Payroll Software Recommendations

    Hi all,

Looking for recommendations for payroll software for a limited company based in Ireland. Have limited accounting/payroll knowledge, so looking for something simple which has good safeguards in place to prevent errors.

The system would need to calculate PAYE, PRSI, USC for a proprietary director. Would like to run payroll monthly, and pay may vary by month. Have looked at a number of options, but it is unclear which might be best for an inexperienced user.

Very interested to hear your experiences with various offerings. Cheers!

We use Sage Payroll (Micropay). Should do all you are looking for and also seamlessly works with Revenue on Line for new PAYE Modernisation procedures as long as you have a ROS account/cert.

There was a thread recently here and some other posters gave opinions on other Payroll Systems. I'll see if I can find it.

Just to note re Micropay. I have little payroll experience but managed to do a few pay runs while regular payroll operator was away recently

Edit. Here is the other thread I was talking about

Appreciate the help. Had a look through the thread, and found that BrightPay (which was recommended a couple of times) has a free offering for companies with a single employee, for 2019. Giving it a try at the minute, haven't ran a payroll yet, but it seems quite user friendly.
