I got married last year I’m sending in the form this week to tell them to move credits from my wife to me.

Anyone know if Im owed a refund for last year do I get it automatically when I send this in? Or is there an other form I need to fill in?

A year of marriage review will be carried out for 2018 so long as you provide pay and tax details for you and your spouse for 2018. Revenue may not have that information yet. The details will come from your p60's/p45s for the year or your final payslips of the year.

Revenue won't give you someone else's credits just because you tell them to. Has your spouse agreed to you taking over her PAYE credit? Why not be a gentleman and ask your new wife to tell Revenue to transfer her PAYE credit to you?

That's a new reaction to one of these queries.

PAYE credits are non transferable. It's the spouses personal credit and up to 9000 euro of the spouses rate band that are transferable. When opting for joint assessment both spouses must sign the form outlining the split with one nominated as the assessable spouse.

Oh the PC police are everywhere now permanently offended but totally voluntary on a full time basis. You sexist pig.

Um, they will. I just did it today, got himselfs credits over the phone from revenue. They don't need to ask him.
