Temp of thermostat

What heat does everyone set there thermostat to in winter?. One of my house members sets it to 19 max but keeps off if possible so it’s not even 19 constantly during the day( I’m happy with it being off at night) I’m so cold when the house is heated at a temp of 19. I find 23 lovely and cosy and might turn it down a little(21 min) if it reaches that. Just curious about what other people set their heat to to?

Have ours set to 20ºc Downstairs and 19ºc upstairs. Its a weird one though. A certain family member finds it too warm in the morning and yet too cold at night and yet our Hive temp logs show that the zone is the same temperature for both times. Must be something to do with some human circadian rhythms and thyroids!! LOL

Do you keep it on all day or just for a few hours in the morning And a few hours at night?

Timer schedule is OFF from 12am-7am and ON from 7am-12am but its thermostat controlled. The house seems to retain heat well and only drops at most 1 deg overnight and during the day the boiler hardly ever seems to be on.

We have a schedule where it’s on for an hour in the morning at 19 and off when we are at work and on again at 19 we come back, I wonder if that’s part of the problem. ... that it never reaches 19 .

Would love to hear of others heat -schedule do you keep it on a low level for 12 hours or what ?

I've a Netatmo smart thermostat and have found the best setting for us is 19' rising to 19.5' for a few hours in the evening and dropping to 18.5 in the middle of the night.

The books will tell you 21c for sitting room etc... and 18c for bedrooms

But everybody feels heat differently so I advise setting the thermostat to the above and if it doesn’t feel right then adjusting it in small increments up or down leave for a day till you find what temperature suits you best.

By doing this you have a house at a temperature that suits and in most cases it will get around the fact that the room stat is positioned in a place that has a negative impact on the stats performance then factor in most room stats are wired incorrectly which allows massive temperature swings instead of the constant temperature control their designed for you can see the benefit of leaving it for a day.

I'd agree with that. I have my Netatmo thermostat in the downstairs hallway. The sitting room has an open fire would always be a good few degrees hotter. The bedrooms would be slightly cooler but warmed in the evenings with the 19.5 evening temperature boost and warmed in the morning by the stat bringing the house back to 19'
