You will need an aerial or pay the likes of Sky for the services

if you give the exact model of the TV I can find manual and tell you what to do? In simple terms it means selecting the dtt tuning or it might say terrestial. Then you press search but say model etc

When you go into auto tuning you select one or more of cable / antenna / satellite. If you already have the satellite channels tuned in you need to deselect that and just select antenna. If you set up the TV for UK to get freesat the Saorview channels will come in somewhere in the 800's. But they can be moved manually to the top of the list after they are tuned in.

I got a new LG yesterday Border area so picking up all the channels ok but as you say the Irish ones are up in the 800’s. I would prefer them through Saorview if possible but it doesn’t appear to be picking up Saorview., and I notice guarantee says UK only, though I bought it in Argos here.

*the tv wasn’t in my local store so I ordered it in. 8193373

LG 43 Inch 43UK6750PLD Smart Ultra HD TV with HDR 819/3373
    €449.99

And this the one I actually got

LG 43UM7600PLB 43" Smart 4K Ultra HD HDR LED TV with Google Assistant
(in Curry’s €649 so I’m definitely not conplaining)

The box has 8193373 sticker on the side

But it doesn’t seem to have Saorview.

How do I move the channels?

The Saorview channels are all in the 800's so most likely that is what you're getting. I don't think you can change or move them. Setting up a favourites list might be worth considering

Did you set up the TV for UK or Ireland when doing the initial install? If you select Ireland it should put the Saorview first, but the UK channels will then be elsewhere. There's no happy medium unless you scan manually and the TV has a way of sorting.

I must have set up for UK. I was asked for post code . On the Samsung you could scan as often as you liked. On my Panasonic HD recorder it scans (frequently) and lets you choose area and you can input uk or best reception. It invariably sorts RTE to the 800’s, (though different to the LG). It was bought in NI so I understand that, but I bought the tv locally.

No I didn’t take out extra warranty. My Samsung went bang after 4 years but I was insured (power city) . That tv cost €800+ but this one cost €450 so I didn’t take out warranty. Samsung is still working great in another room. (Repaired under warrranty)

LG TV's do allow you to move the channels to where you want them. If you choose Ireland when setting up it will put the Irish Channels at the start, but will totally ignore the Freeview HD Channels and won't tune them in.

That wouldn’t suit either. The HD channels are all where I expected them ie bbc 1 is 101. I found a button that lets you change channels relatively quickly (quick access) that may prove very handy for the Irish Channels without scrolling.

The picture is not as good as Samsung (IMO) and this is one of their new TVs, with ‘magic remote’, thinQ AI, 4K, Smart HDR. It’s way above what I ordered. The Samsung might get a recall yet and this one shunted,

Thanks to everybody who replied, very helpful.

Hi just got a new lg tv. Been trying to tune in the stations. I have found it impossible to get irish channels and uk channels together on one channel list. Irish channels are stored on antenna list and uk on satellite list. And switching between the two is a nightmare. I have tried setting location to various places. Ireland. London. Belfast. Can never get them all in one list. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Follow the below process to activate quick access feature in 2017 Web OS 3.5 Smart TV;

    1) Press & hold “0” button on remote to open Quick Access window on screen

    2) Select any of the column on screen displayed and click on it to add your Favorite Application or RF Channel.

    3) For use Quick access feature, press & hold numeric key which you had assigned earlier for an application or a TV channel.

Assign a sat channel to '2' and then long press '2' to switch from any terrestrial channel.

Then just short press any number key to go back to terrestrial eg 1 for RTE1, 2 for RTE2 and so on (assuming terrestrial channels are numbered 1-10)

This is a great tip, thanks.

I've two issues with my LG: the UK HD channels are unwatchable, glitchy as hell. Anyone know if there's an issue receiving them here? SD channels are fine.

Also, my channel list/guide time is two hours off. If I check the menu and settings the time is right, but not on the list or guide. It's very annoying. I contacted LG and they said it's a problem with the model (49SM8200) and that there would be a patch released to fix it "soon", but that was two months ago.

Same issue here. Does anyone have a solution for HD jittery reception?

Apart from that issue, how are you finding the TV? Thinking of getting the 55" version.

    Thanks.

Funny, i have the same issue with the LG tv - mainly just ITV that's jittery, and worse in bad weather. However the other satellite feeds around the house are perfect. I wonder is their a cheap satellite antenna included in the tele?

Has a way of having both freesat and non-freesat fta channels tuned in simultaneously come to light yet? Once Freesat is selected, there's no ability to separately tune in fta channels. Samsung's let you do this, but LG (through the aforementioned favourites buttons) allow you to switch much easier!

I like it, the remote control is really good and happy with the picture quality.
