Water Connection

    Hello,
I've started a new build in the country, and was looking into getting water to the site.
My planning permission details a well, but I was wondering is it too late to divert from this and connect to the mains?
3 other new builds along the same stretch of road have gone for mains option.
Is one more beneficial than other - i think main cost is a lesser initial outlay...
Is there any impact on planning permission, do i need to tell council etc?
    thanks

No impact on planning permission. Many councils actually insist on you connecting to mains if it is available. A well will probably cost you more in the long run so I would always connect to mains if possible. You can make your connection application online on the Irish Water website, water.ie

There is no need to inform the council. Irish Water will advise if a connection is feasible and at what cost.
