    Are they worth the investment?

Have a sage machine myself, absolutely love it, have it about three years now and no problems.

It's a bit more manual, as you mannually set the grind, and tamper it yourself, but a good learning curve, and much prefer it to the fully automated machines.

It came recommended to me by a friend who is a coffee roaster, so who was I to argue.

Had a bean to cup machine beifre this (delonghi I think ) and it barely lasted 18 months, so i consider the sage good value for money, it's a quality machine.

    Harvey norman sell them also.

I have the sage grinder Pro and sage duo temp Pro as separate machines and absolutely recommend them. My reasoning to buy separate was so I could replace or upgrade either if I had issues or wasn't happy. There's a learning curve but you already can guess that. Have fun

I have that exact machine. It's very good.
In the past I've had a few different Gaggia, a couple of bean-to-cup. If I was in the market for another / replacement machine, I would most likely get that again.

    Recommend.

So you think the Gaggia is better?

Sorry. No. Maybe phrased badly. I would get the Sage again

Thanks. Does your Sage replace your morning coffee in the coffee shop or would you still go to the cafe?

Just trying to get an idea of how good the coffee is?

The coffee I get from it is better, in my opinion, than most cafes. Apart from maybe specialist cafes in city centre but I'm out in the suburbs so that's rare for me. Getting good beans is obviously necessary for this. Plenty of threads here about that subject.

I like a macchiato / flat white type of coffee so the machine is ideal for a good dark crema extract and microfoam from the steam.

In short, my favourite coffee is my own at home from the Sage, to the point that, apart from a few exceptions, I resent paying 3 quid for sub par coffee when out.

You do have to balance the grind / tamp pressure but it's no biggie to easily enough get a good espresso shot.

If you are going down the espresso / latte route and this is in budget, I would highly recommend it.

There are people on here with way more knowledge and experience than I have, but this is my two cents... buy it, get good beans, get used to it, enjoy excellent coffee.

I usually drink black Americano but the OH likes latte, flat white etc.

If you use one of these to replace your morning coffee in the cafe, they pay for themselves in six months.

The one on amazon is about €100 cheaper then in store but I'm reluctant to buy online, I've read a few reviews that coffee machines can be hit and miss so if I need to return within the warranty it could be a headache.

You have a lot more rights online, as you didn't get to see the product you have 14 days cooling off period to change your mind and return it for no other reason than you've changed your mind

Buy from Amazon, their customer service and returns policy are the best there is

I have the same machine about 2 years. Love it and use it every day. It has completely replaced my morning coffee out. It's a neat all in one machine (i.e. ginder, tamper, espresso). It takes a little getting used too, but it really is great.
