    Could be worse.

At least you have 4 bluetooth speakers, an aliexpress winter jacket, a high quality bed, mattress and headboard, a good deal on Spotify and 2 Philips Airfryers.

It can be a difficult time for many. Maybe think about giving yourself a renewed or new purpose. Look into developing yourself physically, mentally, emotionally or spiritually? Maybe do all of them. This could be the best year of your life ya know?

OP is probably just building up their post count so they can post about cheap happy pills.

It normally drags but we've got a baby due to be delivered in Q1 this year (yes my wife beats me for continuing to announce it like this but I'm rolling with it out of spite) so the month will fly.

More importantly the 6 Nations is only 4 weeks away now.

Not remotely bothered by January. I'm not one for Christmas, so that probably has a big part to play in it.

Think positively, the days are getting longer day by day.

The less worked up about Christmas break you get - the less you get down in the new year I find.

January is a sh1te month. Just my experienced opinion.
    So few redeeming features!
Garden is chilly silent mud. Bank account is quivering and it's a long time till next payday.
The house looks so dusty and bare when I take down the Christmas decorations.
SAD depression, punctual as clockwork. A very long time until summer.
New Year's Eve was pretty ok, and Burns Night three weeks away. Everything in between - dark, cold, mopey, bored and broke.

Jaysis lads, we are on the upswing. We have October, November and December behind us and it is only a few months till May. The daffodils are already well up. The honeysuckle, the most optimistic of plants, already is leafing. There are birds losing their minds with excitement in the trees. There will be more light every day from now on. We have survived!
PS if you are not feeling great yet, the New Moon doesn't swing into action until the 6th so wait until then to put the pedal to the metal.

I do love a good miserable January.

The sighing and huffing taking down the decorations to bundle into the corners of abyss and forget about, the distorted view of the month that will never end, the sheer anguish who think they overindulged over Christmas and bust themselves to a gym to lose weight, the lack of disposable income resulting in outcries of false concern, the overambitious resolutions that will be forgotten within a fortnight, the misty drizzly grey weather, the antlers and noses on vehicles that are slowly turning brown with constant exposure to traffic film, the guilt buy of that summer holiday to have something stressful to look forward to with everyone else, the people whom are on the verge of a mental breakdown that have brought this all upon themselves.

    Bring on the misery
