Mixed underfloor/traditional central heating system

We are close to going to tender for a downstairs extension of a two-storey semi-detached house, but need professional advise for one key decision regarding the heating system -- do we go underfloor heating or not?

Currently we have a traditional central heating system and would leave it mostly untouched upstairs. Downstairs, however, we are trying to figure out what rooms should we convert to underfloor heating: all, some, or none. Our suspicion is that we need some professional advice, using the (stable!) ground floor plans, possibly even involving some initial design calculations.

My question is, what kind of contractor can help us here? Would a plumber with good heating system experience be able to provide good guidance or would we need somebody with an ability to (numerically) work through the design of the heating system?
