Pet insurance for a 4 year old dog

We have moved home from the Uk with our beautiful dog.

He is 4 years old and we got him as a rescue when he was 5 months. He is extremely healthy and he’s never had a claim on insurance.

He’s only had the normal health checks, fully vaccinated and has a passport.

We can’t get an insurance quote.

He’s been vet registered since we got him in the UK and here. Just had his chip changed from England to Ireland. We have been trying online to get insurance and keep getting unable to quote him.

Anyone know what the issue may be

    You had insurance in UK?

Have you called up Allianz? They will require full medical history which I’m sure you can provide?

What kind of dog is he?

That’s so so odd ... what reason did they give?

Try calling Allianz rather than doing it online. There should be no reason why they won't insure him given his perfect health record.

I’ll ring them in the morning

Going to ring Allianz first thing tomorrow. I had tried online. Probably to do with the chip number as they are different in uk

    Springer x poodle

I know this is off topic, but I have GOT to see a photo of your dog! :D

My little scamp. He has the poodle face but he’s pure spaniel. Bundles of fun and extremely affectionate. He grows a very long ( loose curly) coat which he hates. We have to groom him every 8 weeks

Allianz will cover him but they need his clinical history from the UK emailed to them. I forwarded their email to I’m vets so hopefully they should have it soon x

    What a cutie, he's gorgeous!

Glad that you're getting sorted with Allianz.

He's absolutely gorgeous. I'm glad you're getting sorted with his insurance. It must have been a worry.

It was a huge worry. He has never been sick but knowing my luck something would happen

The one of him at the back door was the day we brought him home.

The second one was he destroyed the arm of the couch and I thought I was going to get divorced. I knew that day we would be keeping him as my husband didn’t bat an eyelid
