Gadget to Record Time

Hi Boardies,

Really hoping you can help me out here. I am looking for a gadget, which can record times at the press of a button (not a watch! bare with me for a minute). Ideally a very basic device that keeps time and will record the time/date on every instance I press the button. Even better if it can output this data via wifi/usb/whatever.

My use cases here are to record the times I go to bed and wake up, and times I get to the desk in the morning.

I have tried a few searches but can't find anything. Main issue being I have no idea what you would call this.

Any help or pointers much appreciated.

Sounds like an ideal Raspberry Pi project to me! A simple button connected to the GPIO pins, and a python script to log it, and stick it on a web page maybe?

Another solution if you have an android phone would be tasker app and buy 2 cheap nfc tags, one at the desk and one at the bed. Set tasker to save a timestamp to a file or something similar and email it to you every so often.

I think you should be able to use IFTTT app on your phone to tell you when you get to the office / leave the office and report it to a Google sheet. Similar for when you get up in the morning.
