    Hi

Just wondering what hp would be required on a 4x4 tractor to use a dual bale carrier?

Would an 80hp do the job?

Possibly, but it's not really a horse power issue. Lift capacity of 3pt linkage and weight of tractor are more important.

Most 80hp tractors are too light.
    What have you got?

    Thanks for the reply

Was looking to into buying one, possibly a Lamborghini 774-80

Well according to tractorData.com it has better lift and is a bit heavier than my 390T so it will lift 2 bales, can't say it will do it comfortably with 2 fusion bales without additional weight up front though.

Edit: I have no real experience with Lamborghinis.

Surely with a full set of weights up front most 80hp tractors would handle a double bale lifter?

Put enough weights on the front and it won't bulge.

    Handle or handle comfortably/safely?

Also Some older tractors will lack the lift capacity for 2 wet bales. I’m not particularly fond of using our 390T for the double bale lifter as I think it is very hard on it.

    I get your point
