    Hi all,

    Happy new year to everyone.

I was chatting to a work colleague last night over a few beers for New Years and he was under the impression we are not getting a P60 this year, where we would usually get one by February due to the changes in the way employers notify the tax office.

Is this the case, as in no more P60? I ask because I want to get a review of my tax as I am very sure I am due some tax back and I won’t have a P60 now to enter the details in for it if it’s done away with.

Can anyone advise or did I take that up totally wrong.

    Thanks

You will get a P60 for 2018 by Feb but this is the last one.

You'll get one for the 2018 tax year as normal form your employer but that will be the last one ever. From 2019 the information will be there in near real time so they aren't needed anymore.

Hey, who will be providing the P60? Revenue or my employer?

Is there a reason for this delay. I am used to receiving my P60 on the first week of the new year

    Thanks

P60 is provided by your employer.

Some employers are slower at issuing P60’s. I believe the deadline is 14th February

Revenue never issued P60'S. They always came from the employer. From 2019 onwards Revenue will have real-time information from your employer about your pay and tax details. Revenue never had access to this before and had to wait until the end of the year for your details from your employer. At the end of 2019 you'll have a statement for the year in your online Revenue account detailing your pay and tax information for the year.
