Is there a way to do this that I'm missing or do you need to do each thread manually? Thanks.

    Go to control panel
Click on see all followed threads
Select all (thru the check box)
Scroll down and select “delete subscription” in the drop down menu
    Click “go”

If you go to your control panel on original desktop site, bar on the left half way down, section called
My Threads. First option there is list subsriptions. They're your followed threads. You can check the ones you don't want and bin them.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.
