Oil boiler - rads too hot to touch

Hi, looking for some tips on my oil boiler thermostat temperature.
Currently the rads are too hot to touch. Yesterday I checked the boiler and the thermostat was set at 75 by the plumber who fit it a few months back.
I lowered it to 65 yesterday but it has made no difference.
The rads are hotter than usual.

What should temp be on the boiler thermostat?

I have rads off in all unused rooms, which is only difference from last winter, than and New thermostat.

Going through oil faster than before

Boiler thermostat should be checked. With boiler stat at 65, measure the rad temperature to see how they compare.

That's the only real way alright but the op says "I have rads off in all unused rooms, which is only difference from last winter, than and New thermostat." If he has only 2 or 3 rads in use then due to these stats (including the hi lmit) being a bit sluggish in operation the actual temperature may IMO be up to 10C higher than what the stats are seeing due to the low water circulation, same sort of thing can happen if there is a very low flow rate through the cylinder coil for whatever reason if that zone only is i/s. (The boiler makers say a 4 deg stat measurement tolerence can be expected).
