I'm in the market for a used 2010ish BMW 320d. What questions should I be asking?

You should ask yourself if you really need the hassle of that engine in an aging BMW.

I'd be asking at that mileage if the timing chain was replaced. They were a common problem on that generation of BMW diesel engine. BMW were replacing some of them under an "enhancement" program so it might have done. The car looks clean to be fair and 1 owner from new is definitely a big bonus but with that mileage it's at a stage where it could either give a few more years of trouble free motoring or it could become an expensive money bit under your ownership.

Other standard wear and tear things with diesels with that mileage would be to examine the service history for proof of regular oil changes. The more frequent the better for the lifespan of the engine and turbo. Also make sure there is no vibration through the gear stick or clutch pedal as the dual mass flywheel on modern diesels has a lifespan and classed as a wear and tear item.

Timing chain around the 100k mile about €1700 and clutch maybe about €1200.

These will be the 2 main questions I would have.
