PSVR Starter Bundle & Astro Bot ONLY €199.99 - GameStop(bit extra if you cannot get into a HarNorman)

Love how GameStop is always a tenner more than everywhere else

I picked up the mega pack for the same price in DID electrical last week. Not sure if they have any left.

Better than I thought it would be, very immersive. Will take a bit of getting used to setting up the headset on your head properly.

Plus if you're thinking about this for kids, this bundle is rated 18's, just a heads up

Anyone that gets it should get Headmaster. Brilliant game I had hours of fun with

One word....Astrobot. As WLG says, it's surprisingly immersive, The actual visor/headband can be tricky to get it just right; even if the visor is slightly off, it will distort/blur the image. Finding best success just resting on the top of my head and closing the visor slide one click from closed but I've only used it twice so I'm sure I'll be able to fine tune it......if I ever manage to get it off the head of my eldest daughter!

I presume its worth spending the extra 30 for the Mega Pack?

Well you'd be getting 3 extra games (Doom VFR, Skyrim & wipeout) for €40. Individually, you might match that if you go searching with offers that are on at present (although game prices vary greatly among online retailers as well as B&M stores), so i'd tentatively say that it's a decent enough deal if the games interest you.

Wipeout is fantastic in VR. Tetris also (Think Rez-meets-Tetris)

Got for one for Xmas, haven’t been able to put it down. Even YouTube has tons of VR content that works perfectly with it. Got the Firewall Zero hour with Aim controller today to go with it, unbelievably addictive.

Got that gun/firewall Zero set off the kids with the PSVR and it's still in the box. I'm loving astrobot at the moment. And grabbed Wipeout Omega on Gamestop this morning for less than a tenner delivered. I can already sum up 2019 in one word.

    Unproductive.

How does it feel to play without Move controllers? I have one Move but seems you use either 2 Move controllers or a Dualshock

Is this version 1 or 2 of PSVR ?

    Depends on the game.

    Unprodictive.

Play it and play it now :D

All latest headsets would be the version 2.

Now is a perfect time to get the headset as there is a huge sale on until 7 Jan AFAIK. Loads of great games on sale.

Yes 2 Move controllers are highly recommended, though many games don't require them like Skyrim, Astrobot, wipeout.

The move are a must for things like London Heist or Electronauts.

Electronauts rocks my socks. I may actually say its already in my top five and Ive been playing PSVR for over 2 years. So intuitive.

Its another one on sale right now.

I think it’s that it’s so pick up and play - you can remix the songs within a few mins of play and minimal effort. I’ve been engrosssed in it for hours on end.

Out of stock in my local Harvey Normans yesterday but I did manage to pick the same deal up (Mega Pack) in Currys for the same price.

You can check stock levels here: https://www.currys.ie/ieen/tv-and-home-entertainment/gaming/virtual-reality/sony-playstation-vr-mega-pack-10189197-pdt.html

The likes of Liffey Valley SC & Blanchardstown SC still have some stock.

Great variety of games with this deal with the standout game easily Astrobot. It's brilliant!

Some of those little f*kers you've to pick up along the way are proving extremely evasive!

Where is best to get the move controllers?

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,199 ✭✭✭DaveyDave

Placed an order there. I've been wanting to pickup PSVR at a lower price for a while now. Really enjoyed Until Dawn Rush if Blood. Have a camera already so I'll sell that off with the games, so It's really costing me €140. Can't complain!

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,199 ✭✭✭DaveyDave

    Hi all,

Did anyone else order this? Haven't gotten a dispatch email yet just an order confirmed one. Still in stock but back up to €299. Was hoping to maybe play it Friday but no sign it it yet.

Smyths currently have the PSVR Megapack for €230. It’s £210 on Amazon—seems to be discounted everywhere. (Edit: it’s €260 in Argos)

    https://www.smythstoys.com/ie/en-ie/video-games-and-tablets/virtual-reality/virtual-reality-devices/playstation-vr-mega-pack/p/170698

The Starter Pack is €200, so for the sake of €30 the Megapack is a lot better.

Do you not have to have the camera though? So that needs to be gotten separately?

If you just have a ps4 then I'd assume you're better off with the full pack?
