I have a slow power steering leak (which seems to be speeding up a bit) can anyone tell me if the fluid drains out completely before it gets fixed would it be dangerous or undrivable? I assume the pump would die, but would it cause other issues?

Its a 2007 ford focus petrol

Don't drive it. It's either going to be the pressure switch on pump or the front power steering pipe.

On the focus take a look at the rigid pipework that attaches to the bottom of the pump. iirc its not uncommon for it to crack at one of the joints.

Shouldn't drive with it like that but my wife did (about 20 miles) and the power steering was still OK once I replaced the pipe and topped it all up.
