What's your go to cure for heartburn when you're drinking .. "medical" stuff I feel like getting sick, the same with milk if I drink it too early, which is now. Usually suffer with it when I sleep and wake up (few hours break from drinking beers) then go get some cold milk then back to bed.

Gaviscon packets work for me. I think Nediux takes too long to start working so not ideal for Christmas.

You need a proton pump inhibitor if the Rennies don't work.
    Available over the counter.

Could be the deciding factor here, I've had a few more beers then yesterday. I always put it down to what I ate that caused it. Maybe it's the beer, perlenbacher for anyone interested.

Haven't tried a tablet form, I'll look into this.

I've tried liquid stuff thinking it was the best, yeah definitely look at this. No good tonight though haha.

Just a thought here, if I take this or others before I drink would it help? I'm always reactive to heartburn not proactive...

Interesting. I just looked it up and it does affect a small number of people that way.

I'm sometimes take one before going to bed if i think there's a chance of the heartburn kicking in during the night with good results.

One crazy way to get rid of it is to rub your armpit and then smell your hand. No idea why it works, but it 100% does.

    Not Your Ornery Onager

A level teaspoon of bread soda (sodium bicarbonate) dissolved in a glass of warm water. Hold your nose while drinking it - it has an aftertaste. It is alkaline, so neutralises the stomach acid. A couple of good belches usually results.

1/4 teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda/baking soda in a glass of water. Will give you instant relief. I suffer with it daily for a good 18 hours a day!
