    Hi
My wife is getting a new car next week and i am taking her car and selling my own privately.
Do I need to change the ownership of her car to my name or not?
Can I just transfer my comprehensive in insurance to her car?

Make your insurer aware that it is your wife's car.

We are back to front last 1.5 years. Makes no difference to premium but we make sure its noted. Lot of them state your car or your spouse's

Once it's a wife husband set up it's fine

When I was working insurance not too long ago it didn't matter a feck who owned the vehicle once the people were married meaning having an insurable interest

You could call and inform them but it would be a waste of time in my opinion

Once it’s husband and wife then the car can remain in her name (keeps an additional owner off it) and you can insure it in your name no problem.

And if you ever go down to one car you should swap the main driver every year to maintain NCDs, just make sure that you know who the main driver is if you want to use the driving other cars 3rd party extension as usually it does not cover the named driver.
