Gear Selection Peugeot 307

    My friends 2008 Peugeot 307 has only 1st and 3rd gear and no reverse... Any suggestions greatly appreciated, he seems to think it's just a cable!?

    Cables do break but they are very expensive and quite hard to change. they come as one unit, about 200-250 new unfitted

    I wonder has the locking clamp come loose on one of the two gear cables. Happened to my 2010 5008. Pull off the gear surrounding and put your hand down under the gear stick. Check of the two cables are firm with no slack.

    Just a wee update.. after being convinced it was the cable that needs replacement he got one in eBay for 60Euro, that's ok..... On stripping down the area he then realised it was just one of the cable/linkage brackets... 35Euro main dealer.. done and dusted. :-)
