New phone - topped up and then opted into an offer

    Hi,

    My daughter got a new phone for christmas. Brand new phone number and sim. Got 20 euro credit with the phone and activated it this morning. Immediately opted in to the '20 calls and data plan' by text. No confirmation text received and when I texted 'offer' to 50104 it says that I need to top up to avail of the offer. No data used, calls made or texts sent - surely it can't be the case that I need to top up again to activate the offer.

    Are you supposed to send a freetext to avail of the offer before the first (activation) top up? The eir website ( https://www.eir.ie/mobile/prepay/activate/ ) says:

    "How to activate my prepay plan
    To activate, top up your selected amount, text the code for your chosen offer to 50104 and don't forget to top up every 4 weeks"

    which is very misleading if you are supposed to opt in to the offer before topping up. Any help?

    That page has been wrong for a year or more.

    The correct info is:

    https://www.eir.ie/mobile/prepay/simply-top-up/

    Don't forget to text your chosen offer to 50104 before you top up or standard rates will apply.

    If you are able to contact them (unsure if they offer support today) then they will or should manually apply the offer

    Sorry to hear the plan did not activate on your daughter's phone. 

    Did you get this resolved? If not could you please PM the following details? 
    1. Full Name
    2. Account Number
    3. Address
    4. DOB
    5. You are the account holder. 

    As soon as I receive this information I can check why the plan did not work.
