That sounds like something an Illinois Nazi would say. I hate Illinois Nazis.

It's a film about white straight males appropriating African American music and culture. And its probably about date rape too.

They've shown it on Christmas day for the past few years, but they didn't always, it's a relatively new tradition.

    2/10 try harder.

Films about white straight males being best mates and doing stuff together are the best. I suggest you watch animal house instead, it might be better suited.

And with a few more snowflakes, we might get to have a white Christmas after all.

    Eh.... what I mean is....

Nope. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

Yeah, suspect that is why RTE aren't showing it... Sky likely have the TV rights at the moment.

I watched it a month or two ago again, still great. Loved it as a kid.

Yeah, the poster was trying to joke about all of that.

initiay the film studio didn’t want to screen the movie in white neighborhoods as they were afraid it would attract black audiences/ crime.... which is crazy... the studio didn’t want James brown, ray Charles etc. any of the old soul artists.. they wanted whiter/modern acts....... despite of this the movie was a box office triumph..... though it did cost more then empire strikes back to make

That’s my Christmas gift... movie trivia x

During the filming of the mall destruction scene, John Belushi wandered off set and went missing. The cast and crew spent several hours looking for him. They eventually found him at a random house in a nearby neighbourhood...apparently, he walked in, made himself a sandwich and fell asleep on their couch.

    :)

Em, I see you don't get irony.

The late Aretha Franklin is in it too.

John Belushi’s good friend Joe Walsh from the Eagles makes a cameo in the final prison scene...he’s the person in the prison mess who stands on the table and starts dancing.

It looks like RTÉ have fully committed to no longer showing The Blues Brothers on Christmas Day...... a dark and sad day for the nation.....

ITV4 have the Christmas TV rights for it now.

They have it on Friday at 10.05pm and again on New Years Day at 9pm.

RTE did show on a Saturday evening back in August.
