Achievable solar power for IoT project

Solar PV newbie here, trying to estimate the achievable solar power over the course of a year. Something like kWhr/m^2 of panel on a month-by-month basis. Might be an elementary question, but can anyone provide some pointers please?

Toying with building a solar-powered IoT device which is battery-backed. There are tradeoffs between device power (and hence functionality), required panel and battery size etc. that I want to understand before going any further.

Set up a trial account on helioscope and play with the numbers..... panel type, location orientation, etc. You Can generate a per-month report from it.
