Rite before this kicks off.... I know star ratings aren't the B all and End all but, I've a few heifers i bought from the north and on ICBF they don't have ratings. The sire is missing and im wondering is this why. I think i remember before though having a cow with no sire listed on ICBF and she still had a euro star index, weve a nice little enterprise and usually 4/5 star and the 4/5 stars always make a lot more in the ring and to be honest you can see it in the makeup of the animal, in my opinion of course! Flat out googled it tonite and nada. ay help would be appreciated. Thx

Yep sire missing is your issue I'd say alright. If you can find out the sire you can stick it in yourself & see what the stars come back like. Genomic tagging is the only way you'll know for sure though

Yeah when the list of females for tagging comes out on the new year select her to be one and you’ll have stars for her when the results come through (I think the August run if I remember correctly)

Had same issue here ( sire unknown )
However went from two star to five star when her calves killed out at 20 months with high average daily wgt gain & confirmation .
Trust your own judgement & when the records start kicking in the stars will follow. P
