Las Vegas Bars Recommendations

I’m heading to Vegas at the end of January with a friend. I’ve been a few times but not in a while. Has anyone been recently that might be able to recommend a few decent bars?
The big nightclubs won’t be on the agenda - more looking for places with no cover charge.
I know from visiting before that each hotel has a main generic bar area in the middle of the casino but found them to be zero craic.
I’m hearing good reports about Rhumbar in Mirage and Chandelier in Aria if anyone has visited them or others similar?
    Thanks in advance....

I wouldn't waste your time and money at generic bars in Vegas. That being said I did do the whole night club thing. Try get on the guest list for a club. Gets you 50% off for blokes and free for chicks.

There was one cool bar that I did stop at because the guy was killing it on sax and vocals. Piano Bar at Harrahs.

Edit: Aria and Mirage are more upscale. If you are in to swanky bars then that's your best bet.

Depends on what you want really. Fancy cocktail bar, live music, gambling, arcade games, piano bar, Irish bar, quiet locals place, hipster ish, foodie bars etc etc. There's anything and everything

I don't go out on the strip much but if I do I want somewhere swanky. the Dorsey at the Venetian is nice and so is the chandelier bar at aria. I was at the foundation room at Mandalay Bay over the weekend for a Christmas party and that was packed and seemed to be good craic in the main area.

Sounds amazing. Given the user name, are you Irish living in Las Vegas? Now that's my dream.

Yes. Prefer a good hike to a night out on the strip tbh :D

@ Hughes81 Re "I’m hearing good reports about Rhumbar in Mirage and Chandelier in Aria if anyone has visited them or others similar?".

I stayed in the Mirage and frequented the Rhumbar. Its a nice spot, particularly the outdoor area. Its very Cuban themed. A lot of Salsa music and the like. It also specialises in cigars and cocktails.

I'd also recommend Nine Fine Irishmen at the New York New York hotel. Typical Irish bar right on the strip.
