The Gonzaga Classic returns from the 25-27 January. There is again a strong masters section forming/formed already. 4th years from the school (led by Leo Phelan) will be running this year's event and I think the charity is again Habitat for Humanity but I'd have to check that. The school purchased a number of live boards over the last year so I expect those will be used in addition to those used in previous years.

5 days left to avail of discounted entry rates for this. 85 confirmed entries at time of writing although that probably isn't a gauge of much given there were 140+ entries in the last 2 weeks before the event last year.

Why isn't Gonzaga being submitted for FIDE rating?
I thought it was in the past, or am I wrong about that?

Good. When I posted yesterday it was not on FIDE's list of Irish tournaments to be rated and I thought they are supposed to be registered in advance.
