Hyundai i20 Deluxe

I am driving a 07 Hyundai Getz and interested in buying a 191 Hyundai i20 deluxe using the scrappage deal. I was quoted a price minus the scrappage. I saw the price list on the Hyundai website and it is roughly the same without the scrappage. Would the garage add on the scrappage in order to take it off?

List price doesn't include metallic paint or delivery charges which with Hyundai is over 1k combined afaik. There seems to be bit of a sharp practice these days where some manufacturers are offering what look like generous scrappage discounts on paper only to claw a chunk of that back in the high costs for delivery charges and metallic paint.

What’s the approx price inc scrappage? Just out of interest.

Jesus wept, you’d have got an i30 on scrappage for that a few years ago.

    Isn’t the scrappage €2500 on the i20?

Inflation! A few years ago you could buy a 300k house today for 200k.

Also the i20 is about the same size as the MK1 i30.

Sure a New Focus starts at 25k and don't start on the Corolla hybrid.

    Tis a scandal !

Brand new i20 1.2 Deluxe on hyundai.ie has a RRP of 17995. Assuming delivery charges and metallic paint add another 1k so 18995. Scrappage offer on pre 2007 cars is 2500 against an i20 according to Hyundai.ie so 17500 sounds right by those figures.

i30 1.4 Classic starts at 19995 RRP with 3500 scrappage for a pre 2007 car so 17495 if you include delivery and metallic paint. Not sure how the basic i30 spec stands up to the i20 Deluxe but I'd imagine they are not far off each other.

    18995-2500=17500... Not by my calculator.

I'd be asking the dealer for a breakdown of his numbers. Plenty of other dealers in the country may not try it on. (may not)

Sorry, you are correct, should be 16500.

The basic i30 classic has a very small touchscreen in it. It just looks out of place. The next spec up has a bigger screen and it looks better.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Alot of money for a small Hyundai,,, think what you could buy second hand for that ? Anyways 191' is important to some people I guess. Personally I'd skip the i20 and buy the i30 if I was buying a brand new one.

Is delivery not around €1,000 with Hyundai? So delivery and metallic would be probably €1,500+?

If nobody bought new cars then someone would not have bought that car your driving now. I appreciate rather than begrudge people who buy brand new cars so that I can buy them a few years later at a reduced price. ;)

Or we could just import them from the UK as we continue to do?
