Does anyone know where to get a used van which isn't VAT applicable? Or is there any way around it for someone not VAT registered?

You would have to find someone not registered for vat,An example would be a sole trader below the vat threshold selling their van.Ive seen a few on autorader

You don't have to be registered for VAT to buy a VAT applicable VAN.

If you’re not VAT registered and looking for a used van without VAT, consider purchasing from a private seller, as VAT typically doesn’t apply to private sales. Alternatively, look for vans sold under the VAT Margin Scheme, where VAT is only charged on the dealer’s profit margin, not the full price. Check local classifieds, auctions, or dealers advertising VAT-qualifying vehicles. Always confirm the VAT status with the seller before purchasing to avoid unexpected costs. For accurate calculations, use tools like CalcVAT to determine reclaimable amounts.
