Stove coal

    Hello all!

I paid a visit to my local hardware to buy coal yesterday. I was informed by a very helpful shop assistant that next year only smokeless coal would be available for purchase.
Does anyone here have any recommendations on what brand of smokeless coal is good for a stove (room heater)?
I’ve used cosy-glow gems and they were good.
Has anyone any experience with ‘union nuggets’? Or any other type of smokeless coal? My knowledge is very lacking when it comes to different coal types.
    Thank you!
