    i have a new enough bosch washing machine that is just out of warranty. We are getting an error message on the screen which says e18 which means it is not draining. I have googled this and the solutions are;
    1) take out filer and clean. We have done this
    2) check drainage pipe and make sure this is not blocked. we have done this and we cant see anything. i can blow through the pipe and to me this would mean that it is not blocked.
    3) when the filter is out of the machine turn machine to spin only to make sure that the pump is turning. we have done this and the pump is turning.

    Anyone else have any ideas? i rang a few repair men but cant seem to get anyone out to look at it before christmas.

    if you can hear the pump running when set to empty and you have checked that the filter is clean the blockage has to be between the base of the drum and the filter housing. you can try by squeezing the sump hose, you will know if there is something in there, if its a coin it will be near the housing, if its a small sock/dye catcher it will be right at the base of the drum, the hose will need removal to check, if you consider yourself capable of a diy unplug it undo the fill and empty hoses and with filter and soap box removed lay it on the soapbox side to gain access, also check the inlet/outlet side of the pump for coins. ideally it should be remove the front off the machine but this may be too complicated, if you do attempt repair make sure you reposition the hoses correct/tight so as you have no leaks, let us know how good a diyer you are.
