    Hi,

Not sure if this is on another thread but want to ask in case it hasn't.

I'm going to Iceland in late Jan after seeing a Icelandair sale from Dublin for a long weekend (3 days). I was wondering where would be the best place to get some Icelandic Krona, would the banks here in Ireland have them or would I just be better off using the debit card up there? I'm guessing ATM withdraws in Reykjavik would be mad expensive.

Any tips would be great, thanks.

    Just use your debit card.

Get a Revolut card and use it over there in ATMs. They accept card payments pretty much everywhere over there anyway.

I would think it’s cheaper to buy ISK over in Iceland.

As far as I know it's a closed currency and you can only get it there.

    This. An absolute no-brainer.

Revolut or N26, which is best for use in Iceland?

Purely for foreign-currency transactions, Revolut is better as that's what it was specificity developed for.

I use both as N26 is a decent current account and it's always essential to have backup as nothing is 100% reliable but Revolut is the go-to option in this case.

Thanks guys for the responses. Think I’ll just bring the debit card, being a short trip.

You can buy a little in the airport but use your revolution card everywhere.
