So my girlfriend and I were in Thailand at the start of November. She fell ill but we were covered with Chill Insurance. Aka, Mapfre Assistance.

I sent in all original receipts, plane tickets, accommodation bookings...etc

Today I got a letter with the settlement. It looks like this:

    Medical Expenses (8446THB) €224.56
    Less Policy Expenses €95.00

    Total Settlement Due: €129.56

Now my question is, WHY THE HELL ARE THEY TAKING €95 from us?

The company is MAPFRE ASSISTANCE Agency Ireland. But I bought it through Chill as a single trip policy for us both. Cost about €50 for the insurance.

Was there an excess on the policy?

Check your policy. It will detail applicable fees/excesses/deductibles.
