Mrs bought a second hand motor, the rear window is tinted to the point you can hardly see out! Where around Dublin would remove it?

Why not just tint the rest of the windows? And get a wide exhaust and spoiler while you are at it.

    Hi,

I had a similar issue with a jeep I bought a good few years ago.

It had the same tint on all windows which was too dark for the front windows as far as NCT was concerned.

I removed the tint myself using a hairdryer (and stanley blade to get a starting point) and some patience.

There is a light layer of adhesive holding the tint to the glass which if you heat up with the hairdryer you can peel off. You need to do it slowly and make sure you are heating all along the section that is freshly peeling but it is completely DIYable.... I'm sure there are probably videos on youtube about how to do it too....

Be very careful, very easy to damage the demist elements in the back window.

Is it aftermarket tint or original from the factory tint. The latter is very difficult to remove because of the way it was applied in the factory.

Or because it is not film but tinted glass! :pac:

It's an aftermarket tint, so should be removable.

That's the concern and why I'd rather have someone who does it for a living to take it off.

    Any suggestions for reputable places?

In fairness id say you would be more careful than the guy you are paying to take it off and youre not paying yourself by the hour

There is a very good tint place in Sandyford that would do it. Phil at Tint It.
