Hi..does anyone know of such a class in west or north Dublin for a very enthusiastic 2.5yr old singer?! Her speech and vocabulary are excellent. She's 'reserved/slow to warm up' around new adults/kids... as are many of us!..so would love to expose her to more kids in an environment that she enjoys and possibly boost her confidence.

2.5 is generally too young, you'll have trouble finding any school that will take her at this age.

This mainly down to the nature of taking on young kids - there's a wide range in their speech, ability to listen to and follow directions, toilet training, self-sufficiency, etc.

There's also an issue that pre-school children need more minding, legally. You need more teachers in a pre-school class than a normal one.

4 is typically the point of entry. Some schools advertise their youngest entry at 3, but often they will be talking about kids who are closer to 4 than 3.

If you can find one, I recommend putting her into a montessori (as opposed to a creche/pre-school). Their curriculums include many elements from theatre/drama theory, and should help your daughter build confidence interacting with new people and other kids.

When she starts proper school then you can look at a proper performing arts school such as http://www.westsidestageschool.ie
