Hey I recently bought a used Jetta but it didn't come with the adapter to for the lock nut.

Any ideas where I could pick one up?

Do you have a picture of the lock nuts? Depending on the type it might be possible to remove them with a normal socket that's just a fraction smaller. As for where to find replacement keys, it depends on the nut again. Is it an OEM VW lock nut? If so a dealer would be able to help, if it's 3rd party it might be harder.

Thanks Alan. Here is a link to a photo, hopefully you can make it out.

    Looks OEM.

http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=91541.0 (that's regarding 15 splines and you have 16, but they used even more combinations AFAIK).

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/292852589264 - the best would be to contact them with a photo. :)

Get it to the dealer - they can find a suitable adapter from their master set and replace with regular nut.

Yeah, I'd be inclined to get rid of the lock nuts rather than buying a key. I can't imagine there's much value in those wheels at this stage.

Anyone handy enough should be able to get them off with either reverse sockets or banging a slightly smaller socket over it. Might be a cheaper option if your planning on binning them.

Count the splines and get one on eBay for about a fiver.

I'm sure there was something like that n my OH Honda when she got it first. Mechanic pared down a cold chisel got them off. Mangled but off.

That’s just a cover bud, pop off the plastic and see what’s behind it.
