I was wondering does anyone know if there is a private alternative to the A&E in eye and ear hospital. I'm here with my son, he's injured his eye and we haven't been triaged yet, but have been here close to 2 hours. He's very distressed and I'm wondering is there any rapid access clinics I could bring him to? I've been googling but a log of them seem to have a minimum age of 16 and he's only 7.

VHI Swiftcare? Only for VHI members though.

By pure coincidence, my better half is currently sitting in the A&E of the Eye and Ear hospital too! She got there about 8am and saw the triage nurse just before 10. She was told it'd likely be 2-3 hours to see a doctor (after originally being told it could be up to 8 hours). Country is a joke!

I know, we're lucky to have very good health cover through my husband's job, so I've forgotten how much it sucks trying to access public care. We're with Laya so unfortunately the swiftcare isn't an option for us.
