    Hi All,

I mostly listen to AM stations , but recently I have taken an interest in online stations like 8radio ,all80s and a few others .

Whats the listenership like for these stations ? is there any way they can measure who's listening and from where ?
their seems to be a large volume of different stations on tunein app but I wonder if they get the listenership to justify the costs etc.

I notice todayFM have recently started a online station offering different options from their normal shows .

Just said I would throw it out there
    Thanks
    B

Not forgetting RTE's excellent RTE Gold and their other on-line stations like RTE 2XM and RTE Pulse

There is no one source to get this information. Broadcasting Authority official JNLR Figures available http://www.bai.ie/en/download/133315

I am generalizing the numbers here, but most Irish radio stations have only modest numbers of listeners online - the main Dublin stations would have around 200 - 400 concurrent listeners. The national stations would have more, maybe 1000 to 2000 during peak hours.

The more niche stations would have much less, RTE Pulse for example would be lucky to even get 10 to 20 concurrent listeners online (excluding DAB and other platforms of course). Other online only stations or streams for pirate operators would have even less again.

Online is a hard market to gain any momentum - the amount of choice and other distractions is just too much.
