How long does a WRC decision take?

Hi all, My mam was told the decision would take 6-8 weeks, and that was 6 months ago! She has been calling every week for the last few weeks and they just keep saying a decision had not yet been reached. I'm just wondering is this a normal time frame to wait? Is there anything that could be done to speed up the process?…
