Is Wifi Calling available on PAYG?

    Hi.
I currently have a number of phones with Vodafone, and coverage has deteriorated locally over the last few months. We were promised Wifi calling when our Sure Signal stopped working, but it's still unavailable.

I bought an Eir PAYG SIM last week to test it out since Eir already offer the service.
I switched Wifi Calling on (iPhone 6s), but it turned back off almost immediately and there does not seem to be any service. Either that, or it's not reliable enough for our uses.

Is the problem that it's a PAYG SIM? All the packages listed on your wificalling page are Billpay.
Can I get the SIM Provisioned in any way so that I can test it or is it just €10 down the tubes!

I asked the same before and was told it's bill pay only and had to switch from PAYG to Bill pay for the service. While coverage wasn't as good as Vodafone overall (outside your deadspot of course) wifi calling was great.

    Thanks.
Wish the guy in the shop had told me that.
I explained exactly what I wanted to do!

I switched to Vodafone originally for the SureSignal for similar reasons. Our 2G mast got upgraded to 3G and we no longer had service indoors on any network. Hope WiFi calling will still be OK with 7 phones in the house!

    Feedback much appreciated.

    Hi niallb,

I'm afraid the WiFi calling service is only available on bill pay packages.

Apologies for the confusion here, I'm sorry it's not better news.

    Thanks

    Tracey
