I am having a nice little bet on Sharjah tonight in the 9.00 in Dundalk at 25/1. Having won this race last year off a pound higher he has ran to his usual form in the mean time, pretty consistent and winning a few, the handicapper has been generous in dropping him 5 pounds for his last 2 runs. He was in rear both times and is a horse that needs to be ridden from the front. His last run was particularly peculiar, he didn’t break too badly but was pulled back and was practically detached around the home turn but still came with a bit of a run under tender handling and made up some nice ground at the end. Either there’s a plan or the jockies inexperience told. Either way, hopefully the young claimer will have learnt plenty and can bounce him out fast and hopefully make all. If not, he’s certain to win a race in Dundalk throughout the winter and is usually a nice price. I’ll be backing him win tonight as he’s definitely over-priced, draw is quite poor but hopefully he can get out fast and is priced up too high on the negative draw imo.

He'll be fit from his recent run in the Morgiana

Charlie Byrnes had a horse over in Sedgefield there. Opened at 6/4 this morning, went off at 7/2, ran no race whatsoever. Hmm.

Horse is useless and the man has to make a living. Not his fault if they put it in too short.

Kerosin 9/1 should win the last tonight. Don't like the trainer but price compensates for that.

Has had two nice runs back from a break over 12F in far better races than this. Has dropped 2 pounds to 88 and has O'Connor taking a further 5 off. Drop back to 10.5F will also be in his favour.

That was my thinking. Id imagine it was a case of the bookies sticking him in short to test the waters and ease him out accordingly.

Horse ridden out wide the entire way around, no effort to put it into the race until the front two were ahead by lengths.

I didnt see the race. My comment was on the price being most likely wrong. This is no reflection on how the horse was ridden. On known form he was plenty short enough at 6/4.

He has done that a few times now at Segefield. Brought a few over that were never going to win whether they were good enough or not. This lad might win a handicap off 100. Wouldn't say he would do much more.

Dundalk 7:00 - Rag Tatter 0 from 21 in terms of winning, but has 5 2nd's to that. Ran a decent race last time out finishing 2nd and has a favourable draw for around here this time out. Small ew bet for a bit of interest at 14/1.

Dundalk 7:30 - Small win only bet on Captain Joy at 12/1, a horse that isn't getting any younger, but just loves the AW and relishes Dundalk. Think Joseph's two runners that are heading the betting show some signs of maybe hitting their peak in the ratings and with the Captain dropping down a little, they are vulnerable.

Ya, that Piper Bomb drifted a lot but then seemed to be backed again closer to the off. Ran like a half decent 33/1 shot.

The form of his recent second received a Nice boost with Tyrconnell winning will in the 6.30.
