Warts

For the last 7 or so years I've been plagued by warts on my hands. Between my two hands I have about 10 and I seem to get new ones all the time.

I've tried home remedies, salisylic acid, duct tape etc. Right now I'm taking a zinc supplement as I read some positive reviews on it in regards to warts and while I've seen some improvement (practically disappeared) in one or two warts that I've had for years I'm noticing other ones pop up.

I'm wondering if anyone else suffers with them and can offer any helpful advice? It's really getting me down having them, and I'm very conscious about people noticing them. I'm 28 years old by the way.

    Thanks.

Go to the doctor and get cryotreatment. Worked for me. Home remedies don't work.

I was in a similar situation.

    Try this:
Shave the outer skin of wart, douse cotton wool or tissue paper with cider vinegar and wrap around wart with duct tape at night.
You will need to do this a few times to get to the core of wart.

Same advice as royster999. File wart back a little, cut a cotton pad into size to cover the wart, soak it in apple cider vinegar and apply to wart and cover with a plaster. Leave it over night. It will throb and sting! After doing this a couple of nights the wart will start to get black dots and eventually go all black. You can stop with the ACV at this stage and let it dry out. It ain’t gonna look pretty but it will dry up and fall off after a few days. If you can’t bare the sight of it cover with a plaster during the day and allow it to air out at night. Try not to pick at it. Depending on the size of the wart when it does come off you will probably have a crater in your skin but this will heal over.

It can be a slow process but I have had success with this method...Good luck!

    Hi OP.
I was in your situation about 10 or 12 years ago. I had about 10-15 warts on my hands. I was very self-conscious as I was in university at the time and during lectures it was hard to hide my hands when taking notes etc.

Forget the homemade remedies, go to a doctor.

Cryotherapy worked for me. My GP only did a few warts on my first visit but it was if my body realised that these things shouldn't be on my hand... And they all started to recess. I only needed one more session of cryotherapy and they were gone. They've never come back. I think I cried several times with happiness.

Cryotherapy doesn't work for everyone. There is the option of surgery under general anaesthetic.

    Best of luck

Used stuff called wartner years ago. Same as what the doc gives, frozen gas in a can basically. Stuff is magic and can be got in a local pharmacy.
