V low kitchen hot water pressure

We've just had some renovation work done which included a new kitchen. The taps went in today and immediately it was noticeable there was an issue with the hot water tap, it's literally a trickle.

My plumber reckoned it's to do with the nozzle of the tap and the aerator needing a high pressure feed.

I'm hoping that's the issue and will be taking it out to check, once I wait for kitchen suppliers response first before I do anything.

However, I know as part of the renovation work the builder changed the pipe feeds, which use to come from the utility ceiling across to the kitchen and then down to the pipes, to running the pipes in the utility down to the ground and under it into the kitchen, where it comes up from ground level to the tap then.

I'm concerned that could also be part of the issue. My questions are:

    - Would the ~ 1m rise from floor to tap mean the drop from the tank upstairs is no longer enough and the water is running out of energy before reaching the tap?
    - If so, and removing / replacing the aerator doesnt work, are there options for a small pump to put on the pipe line in the utility before it runs along ground level?

    Thanks

The plumbing sounds fine..,the cold water is mains pressure.[high pressure].What is the make/model of the new tap?,It sounds like the tap is possibly only suitable for high pressure. It comes down to the bore size in the tap.If so,the solution would be the change the tap to one suitable to low pressure

Can you take the nozzle off the tap to see what sort of flow you are getting then?

If it's still low, there may be a restriction in the pipework - possibly some plumber's PTFE tape.

If the flow is fine, you'll have to get a different nozzle or tap.

Took the head off and the hot water runs pretty well actually, so definitely the the tap head is the issue. It also spurts sometimes with the head on like it's just hitting enough pressure for the aeration but then doesn't quite have it. Not as worried now that we'll need a more invasive solution!

    Cheers
