Amazon splitting orders into different deliveries

Has anyone seen an increase in this in the last while? I think last year I was waiting on an order to dispatch, and it was taking a while, so I asked support what was up, and they said they were waiting on an item to come into the warehouse before dispatching the order.

But now it seems like if I put three items on an order (and these would all be stocked by Amazon or fulfilled by Amazon), they're sending each individual item out in its own delivery, and this has been the case with the last couple of orders.

Is this just my bad luck, or are Amazon changing the way the process orders?

I have had delays with the last 4 orders. I was told to expect a delivery by 8pm today. I get an email at 3pm to say that it's been delayed.

    Prime is a total waste

Almost like there's some sort of gift giving holiday in the near future, and delivery companies are busy due to that fact.

And almost like Amazon can't plan for this & update their delivery times. I ordered on Tuesday. The delay is because they didn't dispatch until Friday.

Yes, I ordered 6 things on Amazon last week, 1 arrived on Friday, 2 today, 1 is apparently due tomorrow and the other 2 due on Wednesday.
I specifically ticked the box to say group the items in to one delivery. It is quite annoying, I would rather the whole delivery on Wednesday rather than all split up, I reckon my colleagues think I have a shopping problem.

You have to remember they don't store everything in one place, they have multiple warehouses. If you order things that are stored in separate warehouses, it's often quicker to post them separately than to group them together before shipping

Amazon delivery times used to be so reliable. Items would usually arrive early.

The problem isn't the delays or splitting, it's that they don't tell you before you order.

I suspect that trying to fulfil Prime commitments is stretching their system. They also have a problem with a huge number of Hermes deliveries going missing. It was featured on BBC Watchdog last week.

All of my items were from the same seller and all done by Amazon Prime. No reason why they should have been sent separately unless the seller also has multiple warehouses which I doubt they do as they are only a small company.

It's even more annoying if you use Parcel Motel or Address Pal :D

Yes, I did on another order about 2 weeks ago. Got delivery confirmation on Thursday from Address Pal. Still sitting in their warehouse.

Stopped using Parcel motel as an order went missing after arriving in their depot and they had signed for it, after about 2 weeks I contacted Amazon who send me a copy of the signed docket. I then sent that on to Parcel Motel who denied it was signed by them, before sending me a Dropbox file with pictures of about 100 parcels and asked me to try identify my one. I hadn't a clue what it looked like and neither did the person who sent it. A few days later I got a text saying my parcel ready to be collected. I emailed them to see what happened and they said they found it based on the delivery address on the parcel, the delivery address was exactly as per the one they told me to use, address, account number etc.
No idea why it went missing, and I won't be using them again now. Heard of a few other people having big issues too.

I'm talking about the splitting of deliveries. I needed something in a hurry before so used Address pal. Order came in 3 different packages.

This was before Prime promised 2 day delivery to Ireland (I know it's not actually 2 day delivery though).

They usually give you a choice of paying more delivery, for several items or waiting until they are all ready for delivery.

I am just off the phone to Amazon as the AnPost tracking number is invalid. They tell me that AnPost collect from Amazon Warehouses even in the UK.

    it's a pain

i remember like 10 years ago , you order the item on a monday and it be delivered on wed , very reliable

now alot of items don't deliver to ireland or its " free uk delivery " so i use parcel motel

last order had 7 items , i requested to be bundled into as few deliveries as possible

all 7 sent individually , and 7 payments to parcel motel

    pretty shoddy

Yeah, that's a pain in the arse because it ends up working out more expensive than buying in Ireland when you have €15 worth of parcel motel fees.

I definitely won't be renewing Prime.

you don't know where the amazon items are warehoused so a redirect service like parcel motel etc with "send as few deliveries" can't be expected to work as you want - just a fact

the every increasing year-on-year volume of online shopping around black friday week / cyber monday etc and up to Christmas means you're not going to get the same speed of delivery - also a fact.

That's how I got mine & I thought that it will useful running into Christmas

Can I suggest that anyone, who wants to complain, emails jeff@amazon.com. Your complaint will be handled by the executive office & it might help if they get a few emails from Ireland

3 of my orders have all been delayed for a day or 2, then after that I get another delay email. Ordered 2 weeks ago and was told I would have them 3 working days later. Not sure what is going on with them the last few months, but they need to sort it out.
I had Prime at the beginning of this year and it was brilliant, not anymore though.

My girlfriend got a warning off amazon for giveing out about the delays and countless lost items.

She is paying for prime at lest 12 items have been lost and had to reordered and she got a warning of amazon!!!.

Told her email the Jeff@amazon.com email and give out about why she got it

That is very unusual, I have complained a couple of times to Amazon about damaged items, poor packaging, receiving a tiny item in a huge box and paying a fortune for delivery, over charging me, getting delivered the wrong item and more smaller things.
They were always quite nice and offered discounts and postage refunds. Never heard of them giving a warning to someone. What happened to the customer is always right (they rarely are though to be fair)

they might be getting suspicious if someone is claiming that 12 items have been lost.

they have never lost anything on me.

there definitely are issues this year compared to any other year - tightening of the labour mkt may be hitting them I suspect.

Yah I wish we were joking the same has happened on my own account I have had countless items go missing once they come into an post i never see them again.

There has been cases were the post man has signed for my post!!!

Then cases were they have put the items into my bin.

I placed an order a few weeks ago, all of the stuff has been delivered so I'm not complaining about delivery times but what bugs me is that they tricked me into clicking on a delivery option which included a subscription to Prime which I cancelled immediately.

It seems that placing an order with Amazon and not signing up for Prime is similar to the challenge you had a few years ago of buying a Ryanair ticket without purchasing travel insurance.

But here's my problem now...... it seems that because I'm still on my free month with Prime that all of my deliveries are free which means they don't see fit to offer me the option to bundle my order into as few shipments as possible. This means that everything I order (e.g. a cover for a phone, price £5) gets shipped separately which is killing me with Parcel Motel charges!

try your irish address first. You’d be now amazed at how many sellers now offer shipping to ireland.
