Just giving people a heads up that there seems to be a problem with reaching customer support. This is the third time this has happened in the last month.

Been waiting for 30 minutes at this stage.

Will eir have a long term fix for this may I ask?

    Hi,
On the chat they tell you straight away they can't help with cancellations.

I just tried to ring 1901 but there is a message saying they're having difficulties connecting customers to the team, and then the call closes.

I am sick and tired of this, been trying to cancel fibre within my 14 days cooling off period but it's impossible.

I am now using this message as written proof I requested to cancel my fibre, I will ask my bank to block any payments to EIR.

I will PM you my account number in case you can help with the cancellation, but the above still applies.

    Thanks, I guess.

    Hi Canonfan,

You can call into your local eir store and they'll be able to assist you there.

    Thanks

    hi Tracey,

Just for your information, a few days ago I tried to cancel my fibre by visiting the same EIR store where I had subscribed, and they told me immediately I would need to call 1901 or 1905 to cancel, so they were unable to help.

The store is the one in Liffey Valley shopping centre.

I'm afraid the store would be unable to cancel any services as it needs to be processed via 1901, this is the cancellation process. All details can be found online here

    Thanks

Can you explain to us how this process of calling 1901 can work when the call goes unanswered. Or can you give us an email address where we can cancel on line.  This would save an awful lot of time for those who wish to cancel .

Unfortunately, there is no direct email for cancellations. You can view all details in relation to cancellation online here

What you are telling people so Tracey is that there is no other way to cancel a contract but to ring 1901 which as we know will probably not be answered and if it is answered, the call will be disconnected before any meaningful conversation takes place.  It's a very good ploy to hold on to customers.  Why not advise people who are changing providers that their future provider can and will contact Éir on their behalf and cancel their contract for them. All the Éir customer has to do then is cancel their DD to Éir

Hi, unfortunately this does not work for people who are still on a broadband provider and were advised by an EIR store assistant they could try the EIR service and cancel within 14 days if they were not happy.

I am with Virgin Media and will retain my contract with them, as EIR fibre is 4 times slower for me, so what I'll do is cancelling my direct debit with EIR, which had not been set up yet the other day.

An AIB advisor in Grafton Street told me that once the direct debit starts, they'll get the money back for me and I'll cancel the direct debit myself from a kiosk in there.

Hi I switched providers last thurs to EIR bill pay and have yet to receive my new sim . Nightline keep cancelling and I only have 7 days to cancel my order which is running out. I also csn’t Get through to eir support . Joke from both sides really. Whose fault is it nightline or it eir? Can’t get through to either
