Working abroad in a tax free country and tax implications at home?

What would be the requirements on a person if they work abroad (for an Irish company) for example in the Middle East in a tax free country?

How long must they be out of the country to qualify?

Also is there still a requirement to pay any tax year for the period you are gone?

    Cheers

Google Irish Tevenue split year treatment. Provided you leave with the intention of being non resident for the subsequent tax year, your foreign employment earnings should escape Irish tax. You may need to manage/limit your days in Ireland after you leave.
