Sky or virgin?

Am a virgin media customer for he last 17 years, but after annual price increases & having to dance around negotiating a new contract every year, I'm weighing up my options.

I can keep the broadband & go with Sky for the same price I pay now or keep VM for a price drop of €15 a month for nine months.

Sky Q has an installation fee of €25, but is throwing in a free 32"TV. Also if I get a referral from a family member, I get a €75 gift card (as do they).

Does the Sky Q service need a dish?

How does the service compare between the two? To be honest, I'm not the TV watcher in the house so the TV service doesn't really bother me, but there will be much consternation if it doesn't suit those who do watch TV. I'd be looking at the basic package (plus HD) on both.

I don't reckon you or your family member will get the referral award if you're getting another promotion thrown in, ie the free tv. I tried that last year for my daughter and that's what I was told.
It's either one or the other.

Yes the Sky service needs a satellite dish.

If contemplating fitting a dish you might also consider fitting an aerial and forgetting about subscription TV and get the vast majority of the TV channels without a subscription.

Only if you need the likes of Sky Sports or other specific Sky channels (not many) does getting a Sky install make sense these days.
