Seemed to be a lot of Transit parts, you would think with majority of vans being owned by businesses they would be getting repairs being done by legit businesses and market for dodgy parts would be low when compared to car parts instead?

I'd imagine they have sales outlet that appears legit selling to trade etc.
That scale of an outfit isn't just going to be selling stuff under the table unless it's all for export.

The price difference of a new door from a dealer and the price from these guys or any dealer on ebay for a new one could be as much as 50%.

Businesses using these sort of vans, builders, couriers etc, they're not going to be interested in forking out for a brand new door or headlight if they can get one half price from a used parts dealer. They'll be asking their mechanic to keep the job as low as possible.

We can't assume the buyers knew they were dodgy parts, vans are scrapped for all sorts of reasons. It's a form of recycling if done above board.

I'm wondering if someone got scalded on a warranty for an engine or something that got the law interested?Purely speculative. Or maybe the system threw up an anomaly in chassis numbers either?

all going for export I'd say

Its always hilarious how you can read a story that says "a load of tools were recovered" and you know exactly who did it.

Ya. If it was a few cloned vans or something like that, I'd say Irish nomads but these guys appear to be pretty well set up.

It hasn’t just been the lowly Transit these types of gangs have been targeting really either is it ?
High end cars like BMWs, Land rovers, Audi etc have been a target for years. Stolen to order by sophisticated means either stripped for parts or shipped to Africa for resale.
Toyota Land Cruiser are the latest, again a favorite of our African coinesseurs

I'd say gangs capable of importing hookey fags are well able to export hookey van parts to pay for them

The people who use these outlets are NOT blame free either.

That’s how they make their money.
