    - First answer: yes, Facebook is now just for the Irish and the idle, absolutely nobody else
    - Second answer: the Irish and the idle

    (Inane questions? Inane answers).

I think alot of people use it a work,
you can use it at work sort of as a past time, most office,s ,companys don,t block facebook, because every company has a facebook page.
i presume most websites are blocked at work , it would look strange if you were watching videos on youtube at work.
It,s the network effect, billions of people are on facebook,
the more people that or on it ,the harder it is to ignore it.
i remember 5 years ago it seemed every young person was on bebo .
Companys use it like twitter , every company needs a social media presence .
Maybe young people will go onto some other website ,or app .
facebook is not cool anymore ,
someone could maybe invent a new social media website ,
but if your friend,s /family are not on it ,
why would you use it .
10 years ago young people used myspace .
Could you not say every social media website is for idle people ,
unless you are a brand ,or an influencer does any one really have to use social media .

I have unfollowed 99% of my "friends" and now use it for family and news. With the amount of clickbait that even the Irishtimes and the FT are pushing, I'm finding myself less and less attracted to it. Actually I'm finding myself coming to boards for the headlines these days.
