Electrical pole in house front

I'm strongly considering buying a house situated in the middle of a medium sized village

its positioned on the main street/ quite busy thoroughfare

there is an electrical pole standing 2/3 feet from the house face which also impedes parking opportunities as the space directly in front of house is extremely tight/narrow

I would have to request the ESB works to have it removed/repositioned

Has anyone any previous experience of dealing with such an issue and what should I expect as regards - waiting time to get it done, cost etc

The first thing to establish is where could the pole move to - if moving away from you does it inconvenience someone else?

Pole spacing (how far poles are set away from each other) will be a function of cable droop / cable weight from pole to service users. Too far and the cable will droop too much or not be able to sustain it's own weight. There will be limits.

If it's a case of the pole being in the wrong place by a couple of feet left or right then there should be less of a problem. If a wholesale movement then I would envisage the above constraints coming into play.
