Foreign Marriage Taxation Question

    Hello,

So my wife and I were married this year abroad, she is a non-Irish, non-EU citizen and will be moving to Ireland after her visa is approved, this should be in January.

My question is, at what point does revenue consider us married and increase my tax band and tax credits? Is it on the date we were married or does she need to have an Irish PPS number for it to happen?

Thanks for any help, I couldn't find an answer to this online.
